Airbrush vs. Traditional Makeup
As makeup artists, one of the most common questions we get asked from brides is about the difference between airbrush and traditional makeup applications.
Airbrush makeup is a special liquid foundation formula that is applied on as a fine mist of controlled air that pushes out color (foundation) with an air compressor and nozzle. The foundation consistency is thinner than your traditional foundation allowing for a soft mist and steady stream of air to create an even product finish. The application process is done in layers in order to achieve sheer to full coverage. The foundation can be sprayed onto the face for flawless coverage and long wear. The makeup can also be applied with the intention of a soft natural look. The staying power of airbrush makeup is over 16 hours.
Traditional makeup comes in a wide variety of foundation shades and coverage. Traditional makeup can be in liquid form, cream or even as a mineral powder. It is applied with various blending tools, from brush methods to soft beauty blender applicators. This makeup application has the staying power of 10-12 hours.
Whether your choice be an airbrush or traditional look, rest assured your makeup will look flawless and beautiful on your special day!
